As you strive to be pure, you will find that temptation is more intense than you have ever imagined. Throughout this series we will be giving you tools to stand up to temptation. The Bible says that God never allows us to be tempted beyond what we can handle. With that in mind, here are some more verses that outline what the Bible says about temptation and purity. The Power of Prayer I Corinthians 7:5b Devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. Thought Life Matthew 5:27, 28 you have heard it said, “Do not commit adultery.” But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with his heart. Homosexuality Romans 1:26b, 27 Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. The Body I Corinthians 6:13b the body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. Temptation James 1:13, 14 when tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He tempt anyone; but each is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown gives birth to death.
